I read an interview to an italian Internet expert, who said, in a couple of years, Internet will be 'the world'. And he also said, there will be a kind of tech-tirany. Google has many agreements with enterprises and goverments. He put the example of China, where if you search for 'democracy' you wont get any search result. Beacuse Google has done an agreement with chinese goverment to eliminate this word from chinese serps. Any chinese reading these? Is that true??
nope, it's not true, you can open google.cn and do the search (i'm not from china but that's what I did), I also used google translate to translate the word into chinese and then do the search, also worked
don't know if that's important as long as the trick works with tienanmen (forgot the exact name) plazza
I tried it too, and it works like a charm. From a US IP though, but I don't think that will matter much.
LOL, what's that about Google China that is so attractive? I remember someone say that their seprs skyrocketed right after a link from/to a Chinese page.
Only you must try if you are connected in China, with chinese IP. By the way. Many of Internet 'gurus' say after this boom of Internet, the Internet we know right now, in about 10 years or less, the Internet we know, will change to Internet 2. It means Internet as China for all over the world. Much more control, regulations, censorship, trials and jail for those who write or speak against the new system. Completely Big Brother Internet.
it is known that China censors the Internet, but this only apply if you have a mainland China IP address. And it is also known that in order for its service to be allowed in China, Google had to agree to do a deal.
