Hello all! Stumbled upon this thread and found it interesting. I still make okay money with adsense on my blog but am just hearing about making money with adsense and youtube... can someone elaborate on how youtube and adsense work together...
James Colin: I like what you have to say about SEO. My limited experience is that all the SEO articles are confusing and not quite useless but pretty close. Since I am not too well-versed in the subject I have concentrated on content and a few basic SEO techniques such as H1 tags, page titles, etc. It has taken over a year to reach a ranking of top 1 million sites on Alexia (worldwide) and top 150K sites in U.S. Still a long way to go, and my Adsense earnings seem to increase at an equally slow rate.
I have heard of people making big money on adsense but I have yet to meet anyone who recommends it as a viable income replacement. Maybe a nice bump on YouTube is the way to go. I will be watching this one with some real intrest.
Travers22 I don't know what niches you've chosen, but you're right in focusing on the basic elements of SEO, that is on page SEO, but even there, just apply the very basics, such as having a title tag, and a few others like you mentionned. All the rest should be about your content, in order to increase your traffic you need to think about the people first. You want mass popular traffic, so you have to talk about (I mean produce content, whatever form) to cater for the mass, not any specific interest, but broad ones. This way your content is likely to please the greatest number of people, so you put chances from your side, that's a good start.
The only way to earn big money with adsense: - Clone yourself and place millions of clones around the world. - Program your clones to click your ads. - Get rich like water
However, the money earned using your cloning method might quickly diminish due to the need to buy toilet paper to wipe the asses of each of your clones on a daily basis.
You can't make money with adsense unless you use youtube? Not true. The fact is, if you produce an informative website that people can actually make use of, the search engines will reward you with organic search results. The search engines themselves are the best marketing you can get. Think about it? Someone types something into Google search, and Google then responds with similar, exact, or relative, information to the search query at hand. Trying to monetize from videos is pointless. Even if your videos are popular, they wont be popular forever. Also, everyone and their grandmother wants to get internet users to watch their videos. Big deal. Try producing a website with common information that is useful to users surfing the net. Very simple. Thats all you have to do. Why don't people do this? Because they are lazy, and want to make money. People are spending enormous amounts of time and energy trying to make money, not trying to produce quality content that someone can use. Duh! Maybe if they focused their energy away from making money, and put that energy towards producing useful content, then maybe they could make money. Everything I'm stating here is very logical, and very simple, yet no one seems to get it. This is also a good reason to get educated.
i agree that youtube is a great sourse of adsense earning, but also simple sites are, as long as you can rank them organically at page 1.
