I am used to be pessimistic about adsense. But them I decided to give Adsense a try and actually attempt to make money. I built 2 content sites. There sites have about 100 pages each. I did limited promotion. Got some traffic from a few search engines and other methods, but not much though. I made $35 so far this month from my efforts. I figure with some more work and more content sites I could make $100 a month. Thats enough to get a monthly paycheck. So there you go.
I don't think anyone ever doubted that you can make money with Adsense. The majority of people in this forum does just that. The thing is that you can't make "EASY" money from Adsense, and it's NOT a get -rich-quick thing. It takes time, effort and alot of experimentation to get it right, but in the end the rewards are well worth it!
Yeah I was suprised how easy it was... I got real lucky and saw a chance to make a forum for something that would have no competition. Right now I get about 2,500 uniques and 18,000 page views a day and it is growing at about 100 forum users a day. I figured what the hell and put up AdSense after the first post of every thread and now I make about $5 a day. I just developed a homepage with some content and hope that number to keep growing.
You made us put up with post upon post upon post about how bad adsense sucked, only to now say: ARRRGH!!!
Making money in online advertising comes down to a few things: 1) Having something people want (either a product or something interesting to read). 2) Maximize your traffic by working at getting it to your site - submitting to directories, working on reciprocal links and maybe paying for something like Adwords if you really want to speed things up. 3) Spend time figuring out where to put your ads to achieve the maximum clickthru's. For anyone that says "You can't make money at Adsense", I would agree with them. With an attitude like that, of course you won't make money at it. You won't be motivated to even try making money at it, because in your own mind you've already failed. With that said, congratulations on proving yourself wrong! ~Barry
I never did much with Adsense until I started getting about 300 visitors a day to an experimental content site that I had Adsense ads on and started getting clicks. My Adsense earnings for September and October were just over $10 each. My November earnings are right at $50, and that is pretty much from 10-20 cent clicks. Needless to say, I'm now sold on Adsense and am going to get serious about building some more content sites and sending traffic to them. John
Hi It's directly related to SEO. If you did your keyword research correctly you'd know which industries and phrase pools to create a site for. Just make sure you have the time to provide quality content. You can also display industry related feeds on your site, thus not having to add content that regularly. This gets picked up as fresh content by the SE's and wham, more traffic. MtraX
yesterday i made $8.5 with my 1000impressions/day site and it's really clear that it's about optimization and the content quality of your site! For example i have over than 7000 pages on my site but i removed ads from them cause they were hurting my CTR and ECPM. Higher CTR means higher paying ads so my income increase 200%! That's what really works! Move ads from spam/useless/images/forums pages.
I'm up to about $10/$11 per month on one site. I just got out of the sandbox so I'm #3 out of 16,000,000 on google's search. Hoping that will help. My uniques are now between 400-800. The site is growing well so I hope it continues. $10/month is hardly worth the space in my opinion....
I found the easiest way to not make money with AdSense is to take down all the ads. It's so simple, I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner.
A suggestion - experiment around all you want/need - study/check... BUT when the major 'hit' time arrives - back off and leave stuff alone. I stop changing my sales page designs ... about October and will resume experimenting in March. It really helps to let your pages 'slide through' Charles
Trouble with adsense is some people only make money from that...imagine if google banned them for any random reason...and then they are gutted... Put your eggs in more than one basket, not just content sites
