Regarding my opinion "mortgage/refinance/debt consolidation offers" are HARD TO GET TRAFFIC, because those are very targeted audience, highly competitive (read: difficult to get high ranking within search engines!!) & Pay-per-click (PPC) is very high (your advertisement budget will be high)!!

2. What is your personal opinion here?

Common sense will give you the answer to your question.

 

I've had a site running over the last 2 years dealing with loans etc. Decided to try it because of the high epc cj reported.

The site has never been a success. It is very hard to compete with the actually lending companies with ppc. They offer high $ amount for leads but they obivously get more money out of it than you do and there are a ton of lending companies out of there.

Top position for Keywords start mostly above the $2 mark and go higher than $10. NOt that I aimed for top position but even the 20th spot on a fair number of keywords is above 2 bucks.

I did try several different ppc campaigns trying to find the sweet spot but I always ended up paying more for ads that I brought in. Right now I have left the site alone and it brings in a few leads every month or two. Just trying to build it up in the search engines now.

The key word in your question is EASY!

Yes $ programs can be VERY high paying and high converting. But they are nowhere near easy! Very competitive markets all! Not just due to tons of affiliates in this space but all the lenders, insurance agents and banks too.

 

I tried to get into these types of markets, specifically credit card applications paying $40-80 per application. Potential big payouts, but definitely not easy to do.

You could EASILY spend $40k per month on advertising without breaking a sweat, but probably breaking the bank.

 

Both Linda and MTbiker are spot on...You can make $40k through these programs...You really can...In fact you can make $40k through more affiliate programs that you think. The thing is it is not EASY...For many programs it might not be cheap either....Especially mortgage/finance/debt consolidation etc. If you do PPC you're looking at some expensive keywords...

 

Unless you really know what you're doing in this area, it probably isn't worth getting into. Judging by the fact that you're asking these questions, my advise would be to look into something else. Look for your own niche, something you enjoy, something you have knowledge about, something you will enjoy doing. My guess would be if you were to succeed with something like this, it would be like working one of those day jobs some people have where you have to work your butt off all day long and by the end of the day, you aren't really that happy about it.

Yah, playing in this space, you are going to have two issues:

1) Over saturation and the high CPL's on finance offers has made the segment ultra competitive.

2) As a result of number one, getting traffic via search is tough because the keyword prices have been driven up so much. It has gotten to the point where the cost of acquisition on the traffic side is squeezing the margins.

 

Hmmm, if you try Blog then you see diference.
But you must update dayli and make unique content and other things.
