It's not necessary to keep seo in mind before you build a site. you better start to build a site before you find a niche keyword. For now many book introduce the way: you first find a keywords and then target the keyword and build a site. I follow the way,but it is very unconvenient.becase during creating and promoting your site, you will found some other better keywords or you take a long time to find a good keywords in case you targeted a not good keyword after site built. the only advantage of choosing a keyword after site built is you can use domain optimizing.so if domain optimzing(keywords contained in domain) is not so important, I think you should accept my opinion that is very convenience.you not need to bore the long time keywords searching and studying and the risk you choose a wrong keyword. so what do you think of it? my way: 1.you choose a domain that is not limit to keywords.(before it, you must choose what industry you target) 2.build you site with unique, good, impressive content in your industry with your keywords( you can change in future) 3.index to good and other se. 4.submit to dmoz ,yahoo. 5.build back link with your best keywords in that time.( you can change in future) 6.find better keyword and optimizing it onpage and offpage(other page) finally you will get targeted keyword with good position serp.
You can change your site but as far as directory submissions go your anchor text should be relevent also you must avoid blackmarket seo which many new website owners will sometimes do not realizing the consequences.
This is actually pretty bad advice. If you don't know which keywords receive the most searches, how do you know you're not building pages around search phrases that don't get any queries?
yes it is not necessary to put seo in mind while making a website but it is always better to do so so as to get quick reslts for d same n so tht u kno which keywords u need to focus on n u can name ur web pages accordingly n also do ur anchor texting as per the same... this wil definitely ensure ur SEO results much faster thn u can except..
I would strongly disagree with this point of view. It is always best to plan as much as you can before you build the site. Granted, you cannot see all the details that will evolve and come into play after it's finished, and your SEO strategy will need to evolve. And yes, you may refine your strategy and focus on niche keywords become relevant after the site is developed, but you can't say it isn't necessary to keep SEO in mind before you build a site. One of the reasons I would disagree is that you need to build the site with Search Engine Friendly design (best practices to remove anything that would reduce value in search engines). This is much more difficult when done after the site is developed. Ask anyone who's ever been hired to "fix" a client's site to "make it rank". In any field, the whole "Build Now, Plan Later" mentality is a recipe for disaster.
You need an SEO strategy before putting a site up, that way the site is more effective. On the other hand, I guess applying SEO techniques is never late as long as you dont change the filenames of your files within your site
