Headed for a $50 day without any advertising to help me... just wanted to let any doubters out there that it can be done. I'm hoping this is a sign that fall is finally kicking in. Anyway, as Rob Schneider says... You can do eeet!
Make moola with adsense - I guess I might be bragging...but can't help it. Hopefully it will motivate some of ya out there in case ya need it. Ok, now I'm going to knock on wood in case I've jinxed myself.
Yup, im on the way there too, made my record of $45 two days back with 15k~ ad pageviews, growing week on week. Motivation? Maybe. Bragging? Definitely
Getting average of 1,500/day but almost 4,000 pageviews from those uniques Everything started going really well after I installed this plugin for wordpress: http://www.w-a-s-a-b-i.com/archives/2006/02/02/wordpress-related-entries-20 Not sure if it is a coincidence or not, but that plugin has helped my pageviews
That plugin definitely helped my pageviews too... But I also link within a lot of my posts to other posts if its related. That helps too.
What do you mean with no advertising? How did you promote your site? How did you increase traffic? Ed
Traffic is all through search engines and anyone who may have linked to me. Usually when I advertise, it is through blogads.com
Wordpress plugins rock. I use Aleister's Other Posts from Category plugin instead of the related entries one, cuz I found that a lot of the "related entries" it would come up with wasn't always related. Other must have plugins are adsense injection, which really has helped increase my CTR, and bunny's technorati tags, which has done wonders for my PR and I believe has helped me get on first page results of searches on google, msn, yahoo, and ask.com. I also did a litte experiment and started having every single post listed in my sidebar, instead of just the category pages, and this increased the chances of my pages showing up on top ten of search results. Here's the template tag for that if anyone is interested: <?php get_archives('postbypost','100','custom','','<br />'); ?> Code (markup):
