Oh, a bonus tip: Have a ton of text at da footer that's da same color as da background, aka...have a lot of hidden text with keywords!!! Search engines love that, especially Google!!!

I just read through all these posts and I have to say that I don't understand some of these people. A person makes a post trying to give some good advice about something he/she has discovered and so many people seem to get angry. Why all the anger?

Maybe a lot of people are smarter than others, or at least they have more knowledge, but that is no reason to start arguing over minor things.

Yes, I agree that the user shouldn't have openly asked for rep. I certainly DO NOT agree with someone giving a bad rep out of anger or spite.

However, doing a search for your target keywords and then attempting to obtain backlinks on the top listed sites has always been a major SEO effort. I know that and so do a lot of others. It has worked for me very well as I am sure it has for many others. The best way may not be to look for sites that you can leave comments on, but instead to look for a link page or to contact the webmaster directly to ask for a link. Believe it or not that often works. Sometimes they ask for a link back, but usually they do not.

Now, if anyone wants to say that I am dumb in some way for saying that go ahead. I have obtained many good backlinks doing this and will continue to do so.

Yeah, I didn't understand the flare up over his post either. Sure, it was a flaky title but c'mon, it's not like the first time someone's used a flaky title on DP!

I thought the tip was "all right". Most of us probably knew this but for people new to SEO every little bit helps. I hope the negative responses he received for posting this tip won't keep others from posting their tips also.
