Can someone explain to me how people who post to a site share 50-50 with the webmaster? I mean...you have 10 posts to one site, there are only so many google ads. I don't understand how you can share 50-50 something that is divided 10 ways!

    Hi,

I hope that I am incorrect, but reading this thread I tried to see if my AdSense id was loading. The fact is that after about 20-25 attempts, I have not been able to load it even once.

Reading the page, I realized that I would never see my own ads if logged in. So, I logged out and tried. Then I cleared cookies, restarted my computer and tried. But in 20-25 attempts (at the Godaddy thread that I started recently) of viewing in thread mode, I always got the same AdSense id, not mine.

Frankly, this is not a big deal financially. But, I thought I would share my observations, just in case something needs to be looked at. I hope some other readers will jump in with a "I just checked and all is well."

    Thanks
    Ajeet

You only have a 50-50 chance that your thread will be credited to your account. Perhaps this one isn't.

Ajeet - Just create a channel and you can track impressions and everything.

I have made around .50 in 6 months with a LOT of impressions. Its a fun little thing but you can't retire from it obviously.

well it wouldn't show for this thread for you because you didn't start it. 50/50 chance for those who start the thread, and then some other percentage based on if someone is viewing your post.

as suggested, use a channel id, i get lots of impressions from it.

I agree, which is why, as I mentioned in my earlier post, I checked the GoDaddy post that I had started, and I did access it by thread, not post.

But, if I check 20-25 times, then the likelihood that I will not run into my own ads even once should be infinitesimally small.

Thanks yfs1. I have been using a channel, and the page views that adsense displays are 1, 2, or 3 a day. I have no way of verifying it, but often I get more responses to my thread than the views. I know that is possible depending on the way people are accessing the post/thread to begin with.

But, based on all your responses, I get the feeling that you are all confident that things are working fine. Then my work (in providing feedback) is done. In any case, I do not think I will make even 5 dollars a year, so that is not the objective.

    Thanks All
    Ajeet
