So are you saying heaven doesn't actually exist, as a place, and isn't somewhere you actually go to? So, what is it, and more importantly, how do you know?

I love how the religious rely on the transcendental just so when they are backed into a corner far enough they can fall back on the classic "well it's all a bit metaphorical really".

It's important that you remember while reading pongs posts that he is making all this up and it's not even supported by his little book.

I don't think religious people find heaven that fascinating, it's just that they're all terrified of the alternative.

 

So does this God/Allah guy really send people to Hell? And he allows their torture? Why is torture wrong? Shouldn't evil people be punished? Shouldn't we all aspire to be God like? How many fibers are intertwined on a shredded wheat biscuit? (just making sure everyone is paying attention)
