Hi, I have a forum that has around 60-80,000 visitors a day. Of course all the time I received new advertising inquiry and most of them come from CPM based advertising networks such as Xtendmedia, harren media network, and DSNR media group. I have been testing all of them and it surprised me that all of them are using EXACTLY the same advertising network, which is ad.yieldmanager.com. The only difference among them is just they earn when they put THEIR codes in your website. Like let's say I work with Xtend today and Harren Media network tomorrow then probably Xtend gets my share today and Harren tomorrow but most of the ads are the same (yieldmanager). Well that's not a problem if I never found a trojan issue previously but things get ugly after my members complained they found trojans on my site. Some people mentioned their AVs like Avast and Kaspersky found suspected malicious codes after surfing through my forum while some others whom used Google Chrome mentioned that sometimes saw the warning like this: "The website at www.mysite.com contains elements from the site staticona.com, which appears to host malware – software that can hurt your computer or otherwise operate without your consent. Just visiting a site that contains malware can infect your computer. " Even after I switched to another yieldmanager ad networks it keeps happening until i switched to totally different ad network then it works just fine. However, if I move back to one of these yieldmanager networks, it would always happen again (ever tried that). Im just curious, why then several big sites still use yieldmanager ad networks because to be honest I think they are really the problem. A lot of people complained about trojans when I put yieldmanager ads on my site but then it never happened again after I removed yieldmanager js scripts. Any thoughts? Im 100% sure it was the ads as I have been trying to find out myself, even using tool to find out if it was my site which was infected but it wasn't. It was clearly the ads.
