I haven't read your T's & C's just yet. Thanks for claring it up. Yeah I know there will always be people who steal. We got an e-mail in from a customer last week who kindly pointed out the Terms of a competing online shop. They copied ours exactly and changed our name to theirs. BUT... They forgot about 5 instances so it had our name in there still. The MD didn't even apologize. Oh well, you get them all. Are there any resources on 'best practices' on article submission/writing. Suggested length, wording etc.? (Would make for a nice feature on your site - a How-to of sorts).
Nice idea T0PS...I am going to implement that this week. It will take me a while only because I expect it to be very comprehensive. You can PM me an article and I will tell you what I think if you like, although when it comes to length it is more about content. The article should feel finished. Believe it or not I've gotten a few submissions that were around 20 words. In most cases, that won't be enough.
LOL 20 words haha. It's not a priority now but over the next few weeks I should be able to fire you one accross to have a look at.
How about digitalpoint uncovered ? Can we start a thread like interview, where everyone can be an interviewer and ask some meaningfull - web developement/marketing related questions to interviewee? That will be better and informative than 'these' general chat threads. Regards, Tuning
I kinda like the way Padawan is doing it. I actually took my time answering the questions as there weren't any distractions like there would be here. This forum is probably too busy to have that type of interview. Nice idea though
I agree, and I think it would suffer with a number of "distracting" posts throughout as well. Excellent idea in theory though.
T0PS - I thought I would post two examples of what I consider excellent articles as an example. The first is probably closest to your situation and shows how you can write an article that may help sales but isnt sales orientated: Beat the Summer Heat And the second just combines a bit of humour with the article 5 Things to Do When You Work for a Jerk Hope that helps a bit Cheers
By the way, we had around 500 more articles indexed this morning although the "repeat the search with the omitted results included" is being displayed. We realized we had duplicate descriptions on all the pages. This has now been fixed so there should be another big batch included soon. We have 3 new features that we are adding that will be pretty signifigant. Because of the magnitude of them, it will take a while. I suspect we won't have another announcent until those are done and implemented. Thanks for everyones support so far of Article Depot
