Just noticed that our site is getting crawled by yanga.co.uk. Looks like an early Google clone. Anyone know anything about this?

Yanga...Sorry but people need to stop trying to be google. They could at least use a different design.

I think YANGA might be short for "Yet ANother Google Aper"

these SE's dont realise innovation is the only way to success. they can't attract ppl who are already addicted to google unless they offer something special

Does any good come from submitting to these 'extra' search engines or is it just a matter of pulling bandwidth?

Yeah my site got crawled by them too, I think it is a good thing as the more search engines index your site the better, right?

I have no idea what script they use, it's not my site.

The reason I found out about it is because of the crawler, it was crawling over our site.

I'm not sure dude, if you have a lot of dynamic pages like we do, it takes a toll to get crawled. 40,000 dynamic requests per full crawl, it's a lot. I started this thread because we need to decide whether to shut them out or not. For now, I am letting them crawl, but in the next update, I think we will block them. We already blocked baidu and some other irrelevant engines.
