Hey everyone! Since I am new here at DP I have decided to share one of my link building tricks with all of my fellow webmasters to help "break the ice". Some of you may be aware of this method and some may not, but hopefully a few of you will be able to put this technique to good use with your blogs. I also want to mention that while you may be out of link building ideas, you are never out of link building strategies, you may just need to approach it from a different angle to come up with something new and exciting. So without further ado, here is one of the little tricks I use: 1. Go to odiogo.com and sign-up a free account. This site will allow you to automatically convert all of your past and future posts into podcasts. The free service works on several blogging platforms including WP and Blogger. 2. Once you are now a podcaster, start submitting you links to podcast directories for additional backlinks and traffic. Some of the bigger sites are podcast.com, podcastalley.com, podcastpickle.com, digitalpodcast.com and podcastdirectory.com. These sites should get you started. 3. Once you are up and running just start submitting to more podcast directories. Take a look at podcasting-tools.com and podcast411.com for lists of podcasting directories, this will make finding the directories a whole lot easier. Well thats it guys and gals, pretty easy huh. Over the course of a week or so you can easily build a couple of hundred links that would have never been available to you before instantly becoming a podcaster. I have noticed increases in both backlinks and traffic using this method and continue to use it on all of my blogs to this day. Hopefully this little thread gave you some more ideas to expand your portfolio.
Hey, I done it. I done it. I got the speech to speak on my blog at talewins com/bulletin/ I'm so proud. That synthesizer's voice really is almost human. When he, she, it, began reading my Fourth of July tribute to veterans I forgot it was a machine. How often does odigo reindex my site, or do I have to click a button on their site, or what is the deal? I've added several posts since setting up, and they aren't available to my "listeners."
This is pretty cool, just have one question.. How does this get you more backlinks by submitting the podcast to directories because the URL you submit is not your site's but that odiogo's?
podcasting is getting more and more popular these days. might as well ride the boat while its still not too crowdy
I have been thinking of getting involved in pod casting. This is great information and I am impressed from a new member. Hope you continue to be a part of DP and thanks for the great start! It is a great way to build rep.
Some great ideas that I never even thought of. Thanks for that website too I'll definitely use it. +Rep
Just give it a while and you should start to see your new posts being added. I believe all of my posts update on the site within 24hrs of being published, but it does happen automatically.
Not all but some of the podcast directories allow you to place both your podcast link and your site url when you are signing up. Believe me I have tons of backlinks from these podcast directories just from doing this, plus the traffic coming in is pretty good depending on the topic. Its well worth the benefit for the little effort required to implement this technique. Also unlike other link building ideas, this one also gives added benefit to your blog readers which is an extra bonus.
