Finding the Parrot That's Right for You

Don't get stuck with a parrot you can't handle

Parrots are the smartest birds we have here on earth. The intelligence that they possess are comparable to that of a two-year-old. Parrots are capable of learning almost anything a bird can do very quickly. The fact that they are so lively can bring you great entertainment, but you should take great care before choosing a parrot to buy. Some parrots can be just as much of a handful as a toddler. Becoming familiar with all of the different parrot species is something you should consider spending a little bit of time on.

The African Grey Parrot is a very popular choice since it is very active and easy to train to talk. In their natural habitat, African Gray Parrots are extremely social, and that makes them very easy to make friends with. Most of the time they are not picky on who they socialize with, but every once in awhile they will choose one single owner that they prefer.

You may also consider getting the Blue & Gold Mascrow. While they are still very active, they are also very large. Sometimes they can even damage things in your house. However, most of the time it is merely on accident. You can easily avoid this by not letting it out of its cage. Just because it is the big goon of the parrot family doesn't mean it isn't smart. It is just as intelligent as the African Gray Parrot.

A more safe bet if you are looking for something large is the Greenwing Macaw. It can still be trained to talk, is very large, and pretty intelligent, but you can have piece of mind knowing it is not as rambunctious.

If you have a family that includes a lot of small children running around, you may want to just consider getting a cockatoo due to its small size. They are very easy to take care of, and they most likely wont cause a lot of damage to anything if one of your children decides to let it out of the cage. They also tend to be a lot quieter and the task of finding a reasonable cage is made a lot easier since it is such a small bird. If you're considering a cockatoo, take a look at the Crested Cockatoo. A lot of people find them pretty to look at with their yellow crests.

Just remember, buying a parrot is just like anything else. A lot of thought and research should go into choosing the one that is right for you. Definitely make sure that the parrot you end up with fits into the life that you lead.

Tips to Becoming a Highly Paid Nurse Practitioner

Making the most of your Nurse Practitioner Career

It is no secret that everybody in the world wants a high paying job. Just remember that to achieve that goal, you will have a lot of hard work ahead of you. This will be the case if you wish to become a NP, or Nurse Practitioner, which is a very high paying job. The tips below will help you reach your goal to become a Nurse Practitioner.

    1. Make sure to get a respectable education.

In order to become a Nurse Practitioner, you will be expected to be qualified in certain areas. Take those courses that are necessary in your field, and make sure that your grades are not just good enough, but extraordinary. It will be well worth your effort when your ready to make your appearance on the job market, as most doctors prefer to work with an NP that has a decent academic background

    2. Specialize in one area

The money that you will make being an Nurse Practitioner will depend on what area you choose to specialize in. Make sure you learn about those specific areas that pay well. Another thing that will come into consideration is the experience that you have. Nurse Practitioners that take up temporary volunteer work or internships at clinics and hospitals will ensure that you are the better choice for the job.

    3. Get yourself a National License

In order for you to start your practice, you will need to obtain a state license. However, this license will be particular to the state, and will not let you work in whatever state you choose. The salary that you will receive will depend on the state that you choose, as some states pay more than others. Getting stuck in a state that does not pay well obviously isn't going to benefit your career. Applying for a national certification is the best thing you can do for yourself. It will enable you to choose where you want to work, and in turn give you more opportunities for higher rates of pay.

It is important to be determined and work hard if you want to make your career as a Nurse Practitioner Career worthwhile. As long as you keep those tips in mind, your goal of becoming a Nurse Practitioner will pay off nicely.
