Yesterday My 9 day old site broke into the top 100,000 of Alexa! Amazing :D

    Hi guys.

    I launched my website on the 19th June 2009.

    Since then its spread like wild fire and yesterday it achieved an alexa rank of 99828!

    This is my first time a site of mine has been in the top 100,000! It feels really good :D

    I'm really happy with this and hope I can now break into the top 50,000 within the next week or so!

    Has anyone else managed to achieve this within a 9 days?

    I've managed to get into top 100k with a few directories that I only advertised on DP, but that was relatively short lived before they dropped back and maintained a rank of around 200-300k.

    It looked good, but the sites made little revenue and were a lot of work.

    Anyway, congrats on the top 100k :)

    My highest rank was around 22k, short lived and I kind of cheated on that one lol.

    Perhaps 2 weeks, although I know they have changed things a lot since then.

    I just drive loads of traffic to my site!

    Alexa ranking works on people coming to your site who have the alexa toolbar installed.

    I see its 2M? Or do you mean for yesterday? If so thats good. My record was around 20K plus too in around a week for a directory of mine but then maintained a steady 100-200K Alexa rank. Usually image host that attracts hi traffic means adult pics at forum posting though maybe a Digg or 2 may help. In my directory case I just advertised in some webmaster forums thus the spike. :)

    Nope I dont allowed adult content!

    Also yes I mean from yesterday a 3 month average for a 90 day old site is a tad inacurate!

    Ok, Yes it would be impossible for a 9 days site to get into the top 100K. Still I stick to my theory the only way to gain fast traffic via social bookmarking sites like mixx and digg plus posting pics on forums and galleries. Thats of course unless your domain is an expired domain with still high ranks on SERP thats another case.Anyway Goodluck :)

    All the traffic comes from users sharing there pictures :D
