Hi all, I know we had a pot thread going some time back but I wanted to get a new one going now that we have a new group of members in the bucket. So lets get the debate going. Should pot be... And please give your reasons for the way you answered.
I dont really know... I think its something everyone should try once but i dont think people should do it on regular basis. It would have been alright if it just stopped there but IMO its just a first step towards another upper class drug.
Fair answer. BUT, dont you think that should be up to the individual to decide? Or at least the state? Personally, I dont see where it is constitutional for the feds to be telling you that you cannot spark up a doob but that is my opinion.
Well it is always up to you to decide. Weather its legal or not. All i know is that people start on weed (quite harmless) and end up on crack. At the end of the day if you want to try something no law will stop you.
While that may be true for some, people it for sure isnt for all. You would be surprised at how many people who wear suits to work smoke up afterwords and end it there. I think it is all about personal responsibility.
Well... I myself started smoking weed in school... It was a laugh... Thought i might try something else... So i ended up in hospital after smoking crack.... I know a lot of people with a similar story.
Yeah, but is that my fault? Who's fault is that? Not being rude, just trying to make a point. I smoked pot for 8 years and never moved on to anything other than Guiness and Beamish. I quit the pot when I got involved in politics but I can still proudly say that I never used any chemical drugs. Goes back to personal responsibility.
Alcohol is by far the biggest 'gateway drug' out there and or tobacco, far greater than pot would ever be. Even taking this into consideration those who believe pot leads to crack. Why do you think that is? Pot being lied about, stating it will kill you, you'll be addicted, etc, etc, etc. Ok now Timmy who is rebelling decides to spark up that illegal pot that is easier to come by off the streets than tobacco or alcohol is. He quickly realises the dangers of pot he grew up being told were totally fabricated and made up. Timmy now believes crack might be the same way, nowhere near as bad as what he was told, afterall pot wasn't bad for him, didn't kill him, all it did was make his mouth dry, him think a bit and his ass swell from all the chips he ate. Now that crack is on the same street and or source as he bought his pot, the only problem is unlike pot that is grown and is natural and for the most part harmless is a totally different story than the crack he's about to consume. Reguardless some will try crack as some people are just plain stupid and wreckless, to make the argument that it was souly because they used pot I would love to see.
You know, that is a great point and I never really thought about it but you might be onto something there. I can see how the lie about pot could lead to other drugs. Interesting...
Well the thread is about law... So im looking at it from both sides (thats why i voted i dont know). If it was made legal it would give people more freedom because at the end of the day its up to you to decide like you said. On the other hand if the law was there, it might stop those few i was talking about from starting... So lol yea, im not blaming it on anyone.
Yes possibly but when do most people start? If it was regulated would those same people beable to get it as easily as they do? Do you realise there are legal substances out there that are much more dangerous for you than anyone could ever even twist the facts to claim pot is?
Ok, so if it is about law, can you show me an amendment in the constitution where the feds are given the power to tell you not to smoke pot? I havent found one but I could be looking in the wrong place.
I must admit that it is harder to get weed here in uk when police gets involved. Last year for example the prices rocketed because of lack of suply due to police intervention... right, i better go to bed before i start talking rubish...
Wasn't the original drafts of our constitution wrote on hemp or something? Plus many of our founding fathers grew hemp and even smoked pot from what I've read
