    Why would anybody buy a website for that much money?

    It was probably a hype for the Y2K problem, (which was not a problem).. Read more info here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Y2K

    too many crazy sellers daydreaming on ebay everyday.

    What I don't understand and doubt is if I own a good domain and goto afternic,sedo or any other agency, will I find these high paying buyers again,who are paying millions for just domain name?

    OK seriously there is no way year2000.com to get close to $500 or maybe the buyer (let's call him buyer) came from space
