Why would anybody buy a website for that much money? It was probably a hype for the Y2K problem, (which was not a problem).. Read more info here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Y2K

an old news said in Canada read this Year2000.com domain draws $10 million bid http://news.com.com/2100-1017-235145.html was it a true bid or not???
well, it was 10 million on ebay. too many crazy sellers daydreaming on ebay everyday. i don't sincerely think the buyer ever paid.
What I don't understand and doubt is if I own a good domain and goto afternic, sedo or any other agency, will I find these high paying buyers again, who are paying millions for just domain name?
That's a million, oh no, billion dollar question! If I know all that, I would have been richer than 10 Bill Gates combined.
OK i assume the guy bought vodka was drunk but year2000.com ? OK seriously there is no way year2000.com to get close to $500 or maybe the buyer (let's call him buyer) came from space
eBay said today that the record $10 million bid for Web address Year2000.com turned out to be a prank. Check it out here... http://news.com.com/Year2000.com+auction+on+eBay+found+a+hoax/2100-1017_3-235217.html
Well I would understand y2k.com possibly getting this much but not a stupid domain like that - reg fee!
