    Hi everybody,

If I register a site that has Yahoo! in url like YahooSource.com, will this cause Trade Mark issues and lead to troubles :)?

Most likely yes, if you post degrading things about yahoo. But a Yahoo site in favour of them, I think you'd have a better chance of keeping it.

It will be considered an infringement on the TradeMark of Yahoo INC.

If you even make a penny off of that site they will go after you. It's best not to even mention any company's name in your URL (besides your own) or you will most likely recieve an email or letter threatening a lawsuit.

Try yahsource.com ...atleast you can practise due diligence with a domain like that.

Yea, you can develop on it, but you'll always be hanging by a thin thread. Do one thing to piss them off, and you're gone.

You may get away with it with smaller companies, but I would be very careful with names like yahoo, google etc.

I advice you not to use the domain in any way. They are giant company. They can do whatever they want.

I had one domain which had "yaho"(not "yahoo") in the name then also they sent me C & D, I simply transfered the domain to their server. I never wanted to fight with them.

Actually I haven't seen any unofficial site that has Yahoo keyword in url but I have seen a LOT containing Google and not banned from SERPS or closed down and the most significant one is GoogleCommunity.com . This is a forum about Google services and hasn't been closed down so far. I don't know if they have taken permission from Google or what . Anyway, thanks for you advice.
I will register a domain that has Y only not the full keyword to avoid problems.

It's already been said but just to verify..yes, that is a trademark infridgment. You cant have anything with the word Yahoo in it because Yahoo is a registered trademark

They might or might not do something about it.

If your site gets big, they'll definitely sue.
