Gmail is cool, but that feature is not unique to gmail. Yahoo beta has the same feature.

I have both yahoo and gmail accounts. Gmail offers a lot of new features but i still go for yahoo. I find it easier to navigate through the yahoo interface...

Gmail is easier and more user friendly. I love them but just the only problem is it always down or disconnected here. (show a message that "can not operate what i request, please come again later"). I love their fast email input and chat system. ^^

Can't really comment on yahoo's e-mail system as never used it. We have always used gmail and the hardest thing would be to switch at this time, no one likes change and we are now so accustomed to the way gmail is set out that switching without a proper plan in place would cause serious teething issues.

Perhaps someone on here could provide a pro's and cons of both?

FFS, why would anyone see fit to resurrect a 6 years old thread?

Post padding is no longer of any use.

    Idiotic spammers.

I love gmail, it's fast, has great spam control and searching for your emails is really superior to other email systems.

Gmail is more quality. There is a difference between Gmail and Ymail. With Ymail you can make infinitely many accounts, but with Gmail you will need new phone number after 5 accounts. Gmail is also much easier and faster.
