So according to recent news, Yahoo has decided to partner up with Google, creating a super monopoly against other search engines.
    http://www.thegermz.com/the-web/cant-beat-em-join-them
Microsoft live is going to be dead if They prolong their partnership.
    What do you guys think?
I think Yahoo is going to stay with Google and possibly even merge with them to prevent being bought by Microsoft.

What do you think will happen if a merge occurs?

My opinion is that in a nutshell is not good to have 85% of traffic/searches centralized in a unique supplier.
Talking as a merchant having options is always good

I don't think it will happen, a lot of regulatory hurdles stand in the way. I doubt the fed would allow it.

It is a short term solution. It will be interesting to see what's going to happen.

Yahoo outsource partial search advertising to Google Adsense

It sounds more harder to optimize a site if they are joining together. But I think it has a better outcome if they do that.

Google does need Yahoo, without Yahoo Google wouldn't have become what it is today. From what I've read Google had a partnership with Yahoo before.
