Hello Guys,

I am working with a website and have done all the basic things of seo for it. Google has started crawling its pages but yahoo/Bing has still not indexed its many pages. What is the reason?

 

In my experience, Yahoo and Bing (whose search engines are tied together, by the way) take 2-3 times as long as Google to index a site. Sometimes even longer. Their search algo is nowhere near as sophisticated as Google's. Be patient.

By the way, there is one more query I have. I have changed the title and description of some of web pages of my site day before yesterday. But, google is indexing the old ones. How many days it take google to update new meta tags?

 

A few days usually. Google has many data centers, and it can take some time before they all update. It also depends on how often Googlebot is crawling your site.

It does take longer to get indexed in bing and yahoo and its also much harder to rank

 

Yahoo generally takes much time for indexing. You have to wait for even few weeks, but it's not a problem and no need to be worry.

I wouldn't concern yourself too much with yahoo, concentrate on google rankings.
