haha - I was browsing around the dp tools (As you do) and the Yahoo! WebRank caught my eye and made me giggle. What the hell happened to that? Shawn's tool thingy still returns results... I guess they didn't completly unplug it in the end. :|
Hah, if anyone try to sell site and tell people that site have rank 5 on Yahoo, buyers will not get a clue what he mean.
I don't either, I checked and all my sites are WR0 but Digitalpoint is WR5 according to the Yahoo tool. Yahoo might rate my sites WR 0 but I have quite a lot of number 1 positions in Yahoo anyway .
My main site got a 2 - Same as my PR... I guess it's been like that a while - I don't remember what it was before...
Is this web rank of any importance ??? There's a post above that the WR is 0 but the website still is on 1 position! Then why is it for ? What does it do ... Regards jeet
I'm pretty sure WebRank never made it out of beta and was killed. Pretty much the only mention of it on Yahoo's site is a blurb in their privacy policy... [search=yahoo]site:yahoo.com "web rank"[/search]
I think you're missing the point - WebRank doesn't exist - It was some lame attempt by Yahoo! to get webmasters more excited about their search offering - the problem, is that it didn't make any sense. (Well, it didn't work when they released it).
How do you get a number? All the tool gives out is an image.. Would this be YR 7??!!! If it is, it's not very hard to get a high YR!!!! That's for a site with very few back-links!!
Ugg!! Now I see. If it has a so called YW, a number shows up in that image. Yahoo is 10, and Google...has none!!! I got PR 3/YW4 on one site.
I couldn't agree more. It's useless (and I'm the one that made it). Would have been *somewhat* useful if Yahoo didn't kill their Web Rank stuff, but oh well... {shrug}
