It's about friggin time they start updating, my listings have been the same since they went online with their new search.
No new sites, no nothing. I'm talking about big keywords here.
    Some fluctuation is expected.
I got loads of new sites waiting to be picked up, they all got links from more than 20 directory listings.

    I agree...

    Welcome to the Forum btw.

Checked your site; one tip/question: If you are in the business of 'making businesses visible on the web' then why do yuo make invisible menu/navbars? Black images on black/dark backgrounds doesn't really work well. I can't read a word of it. Just my 2 pence.

I really don't pay as much attention to yahoo as I should. I had no idea it's been months since they updated. That's way too long in internet time.

I just hate yahoo in general. I hate portals and I had companies that have a big goose egg for customer support. Try to get help for any yahoo owned service and you'll feel like you're all alone in some barren waste land.

Around the time they dropped Google, they launched their "new" search.

Their algo and search are under six months old... (around 3-4 months, can't recall the exact date at the moment.)

Dunno about hardware, but I'm pretty sure they run FreeBSD as the operating system for their search servers.

Bling it says right on their home page "Powered by HP"

By the way, Yahoo, Google and HP were all down for about 10-15 min. today at the same time, could be that Akamai NS again, even DP was unavailable for a few seconds. Google and Yahoo were down at the same exact time, then I tried HP and they were down.

DP was only down for about 1 min. (or unavailable to me)

Don't look at my listed site, I'm not gonna show my Yahoo sites here.
Maybe if/or when I trust a few of you I will sticky some of them.

My targeted keywords are very popular, and I doubt any of you will help me further before you know me.
I've been a "yahoo webmaster" since 1998, and I love their traffic. (I still got a signific amount)
If they are going to nail google, they really should start showing fresh results...

    Enough rant...

Obviously they will start showing fresher content - they don't need to copy everything google does though, otherwise why the hell would they compete?

When you start to see Yahoo spidering as much as Google you may have your answer, but I do not see that happening right now.

So how could they have the fresh results you are looking for?

    Thanks for the welcome.
    Much appreciated.
I used to read and post webmasterworld, but this forum has grown to be much more active.
I'm more of a lurker/reader than a poster, but things may change.

    Back to the point:
Yahoo got the technology of alltheweb, they got a super crawler, why don't they implement the resources they have bought and build a organic, evolving SE that can compete with google?

They need to start getting things right, us webmasters and the surfers need both google and yahoo.

That Can't even get past a URL string with more than one variable? It doesn't seem so great to me.

You're right though. They do need to start updating some of the results because it has been a while (At least for the things I am looking at).

BTW, What made you come here instead of WMW? If you don't mind me asking.
