    skype is the best than yahoo because it is very much popular to people to use as a video and audio chat. Clear sound easy to file transfer and so many feature are there.

    Skype is better for voice and video chatting. Voice quality is better in Skype. But yahoo is also good messanger for it's various features and wide range users.

    It's only Skype I have used since its very early versions. I remember once installing Yahoo! Messenger, but only for one conversation I needed. I also want to add that I liked the previous Skype versions a bit more.

    I still use Yahoo Messenger because:
    1) Wide friend coverage. Most of my friends or partners use it
    2) I am also use it while checking my email etc
    3) I don't see any reason to change

    Skype to me seems to much fancy and bubbly if you know what I mean :)
