Google is way faster than Yahoo.. but slow as hell in updates. One things clear, if you rank high in google, you rank high everywhere.

Google adwords is easier to use than Yahoo. I have used both and other smaller PPC. I never had any luck with small PPC, I have had good results with both Google & Yahoo. Google can be hard to get the hang of. Any PPC campaign can end up costing a small fortune if you don't know what you are doing.

I really think it depends on what you are marketing as far as conversions.

In terms of profit, is there really a difference in how much a person can earn through Yahoo or Google? I think Google's pretty good, but when their eCPM rates change all of a sudden, it drives me insane.

Although its clear that Google is the best in the market. I'm pretty sure yahoo is unbelievably closely second to google. Good keyword research and corresponding ppc should give good returns in Yahoo.

Google gets 4-6 more sales for my wife's online store, by far, but the cost per sale is very close between the two. We want as many sales as possible from any source we can find as long as the price is right.

Google get a minimum 50% of the searches, and I've read lately that as much as 70% Maybe your company is going with other search engines as they may be cheaper for PPC?

Perhaps the target demographic for your industry doesn't fall into the demographic for Google users (btw has anyone seen any kind of study that's ever tried to determine which demographics use which SEs?) but Google is a major player if not THE major player when it comes to SEs. I would want to keep my options open if I were you or at least ask why they decided to excluded Google as a tool.

I prefer both just as equally. And oft times when I want to see the results of both SE at the same time I go to GahooYoogle
