Yahoo vs Google

I am new to the whole search engine/PPC thing.

I have recently paid a company to do some optimised PPC for me. They are using 5 different search engines but they are not using Google. How do these other SE's compare to google as far as CPC etc?

Do you guys tend to have more sales/signups via Yahoo or Google?

    Or direction greatly appreciated.

Also, is there any PPC optimisation companies you would recommend.

I hear page zero are good. Any reviews?

    Thanks

    Paul

It depends on your product or service. Google tends to have the more tech savvy - while yahoo has the more mom & pop. Yahoo generally converts better, but can be more expensive. I think it is a mistake for any company not to at least try adwords.

Why would they not target google? Google is one of the big 3? You'll loose a lot of traffic without google.

Google brings more leads b/c majority uses Google... but more traffic means your budget gets exhauted quickly and conversion depends on your service/product and how well it's being presented and pitched to the prospect... Try Adbrite for a change...

Google is bigger than Yahoo as a search engine, but Yahoo isn't really that far behind. What are the other 5 engines by the way?

Yes, I do agree. Yahoo has improved a lot in recent month and I think Yahoo is gaining Search Engine Market share now.

Google Adwords is better for me. I also tried Yahoo Overture but Google proved better for me.

Don't ever buy expensive keywords, especially in the beginning try with the minimum amount.
