Yahoo v Google

    Heya,

I just published a new website that I've made myself on an idiot proof package provided by my web host and done my own SEO. It isn't a terribly hard catergory to do seo on as it is kids birthday parties.

Using all the on page and meta stuff I'm on page two of yahoo. I'm nowhere on google though.

Does anyone know for sure what google search criterior are at the moment? Also I know google is the no 1 search but any idea what the market share %s are between google and the other search engines?

    Thanks

It's definetley harder to rank in Google than it is in Yahoo. In Yahoo, you can get away with crap links.

I think it goes both ways. Sometime it is difficult in Google and sometime is difficult is Yahoo. Also, remember that lot more people are trying to rank high in Google than in Yahoo. So your competition is also fierce in Google.

Try to rank high in google and you'll rank higher also in Yahoo. To rank high in yahoo you need to be in Yahoo Directory

Work on both search engine simultaneously. After your page has been optimized for yahoo, than you can start the link building step to rank on Google. Find as many link as you can from high PR sites (preferably related sites) and you can rank on google steadily.

I think most of the SEOs don't bother about YAHOO or other search engines. they have always putting efforts to create a good image in front of google and get ranks through it.

We are always concentrate on optimizing on google, if we succeed in google, automatically other search engine will update us. that's the more or less rule every one follow.

i think optimizing a site in google is easier than yahoo....
