Yahoo Updates Search Results!

Unfortunately, we got slammed. This happened last time Yahoo did an update, and it took about 2 or 3 weeks for us to get back to roughly 80% of the status before the reindex. Hopefully this time won't take as long and we can bump higher...

Not sure if this is indicative of everyone's experience but it seemed to go like this for us:

Older, established sites (1-5 years old): Mostly status quo, though those sites are already in the top 10 for most of their keywords anyway.

Newer, less established sites (<1 year old): Crazy gains. In some cases jumping 300-500 spots to be in the top 10 (deservedly so I'd say, all good relevant sites). Also noticing considerable gains in secondary keyword presence. A few cases of sites less than 6 or 3 months old cracking the <1000 index for the first time, usually with a bullet. There also didn't seem to be any difference in gains between sites in the Yahoo Directory and those that weren't.

Can anyone specify what it is they're changing? I don't think it's backlinks or domain age but I'm not sure what else it could be.

 

Does anyone actually make any $$$ from Yahoo?

I've ranked #1 for several supposedly good terms in Yahoo and got nothing in return...

Anyone?

 

Yeah, I also notice that because some of my keywords is on the top ten.

but it has very poor on the yahoo by these keywords. website is

For some keywords it did not change much, some others are skyrocketing.
So far I'm seeing double traffic from Y!

Just a followup, yahoo can come and go but my traffic changes zero...

I see some of my sites ranking well, others not so well. The traffic just inexistant. I think nobody in Portugal, Angola or Brazil uses yahoo?

 

blah..im always a weeklate on stuff like this lol - my traffic from yahoo is booming for some reason lol, almost 1000 uniques from yahoo itself this month

 

Sigh. And we're sadly continuing to drop in yahoo. We're roughly about 1/3 or so of our traffic from when this first hit. We started climbing back up again very slowly, but began to dip again this week...
