Im noticing a major shift on all my keywords. Serps are also visually diffierent, they look more like google now. Whats going on? I see alot more spammy sites in there. Also got wiped completely for about 10 words.
I saw a Yahoo update a few days ago. I only noticed because I got #10 for a really competitive keyword that I threw about 25k in co-op weight at. That same co-op weight only got me to #27 in Google. One thing about Yahoo is that after you remove the co-op weight, it takes a long time for your SERPS to fall. Conversely,of course, when you add the co-op weight back, it takes even longer than Google for your SERPS to rise again.
I noticed a change on yesterday, but it could just be my site. For some reason after a early a year Y! has decided to drop my Meta title and description and use the on from the Y! Directory. When they did that I vanished from the SERPs. Hopefully I will return in a day or so.
A little bird told me that Yahoo was now using DMOZ descriptions on search results. Is your DMOZ description the same as your Yahoo! Directory description?
I have saw very definite movement on some financial terms. They were ok, but they are now full of total junk mainly from one site using a range of 'keyworded' subdomains. However, this kind of movement is typically the start of a process of rolling out updated results. It'll probably bob up and down for a while before something sticks.
Well I vanished. I have dug down 500 entires or so and can't find my site. I was in the top ten. I have seen sites vanish for a few days and then reappear. I hope that will be the case.
Here is a really interesting result... ive found about 20 of my phrases, too, that are like this - but check how many times WePlay.com is on there.. http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=asics+wrestling+shoes&prssweb=Search&ei=UTF-8&fl=0&x=wrt I see 13 of 20 right now... I have one phrase that has up to 18 of the 20
My results haven't changed but my description has. I only altered it last week and the new version is showing up already.
hmilesjr - I'm seeing the same thing on a few of my sites in the financial / insurance sector. First page ranking blipped out...I too am hoping they will come back in a few days, a la Yahoo update craziness. Per the sub-domain spam; I'm actually seeing a bit less of it on my searches, but I'm seeing fewer sites overall, so it is difficult to say if they are pruning bad sites or just cutting off branches altogether. Nope, my site that's in both dmoz and Yahoo directory is still showing Yahoo's description, which is annoying. I'd rather it show... THE PAGE TITLE!
