yeah. Both has different algorithm to index the site listing according to search keyword.

 

It depends on the backlinks. If you have lots of backlink from your own country than it will be better ranked than on yahoo.com However backlinks are not the only thing. There are other factors too,which are best known to Yahoo and Google!

Yes yahoo.com and .uk has difference but its not as much difference compare to what u see the difference in the google .Yahoo is also focusing on geo traffic .

 

Google has diff calculation than yahoo but the links you have will give some little importance
