I have a variety of sites some up to 10 years old, pretty well across the board we get between 10% to 15% of the site traffic from yahoo and even though the site still ranks well for alot of keywords. Any tips on what percentage of traffic you should aim at from google and yahoo.
Yahoo and Google are search engine and to get traffic from SE it is very important to metatags, robots.txt, sitemap.xml, sitmap.txt, keywords and discription metatags, link popularity and all those. if you are ranking top in google and yahoo for keyword for "website Design" than you would have more than 400 visitors everyday to cairnsseo.com also traffic comes from that traffic goes to "webdesigner directory" if you have link in those kind directory. Once you have more traffic and valuable site you will have higher pagerank and that will increase even more traffic. I hope that helps.
It depends a lot on IBL and referrral traffic to those sites. I have sites with almost no IBL that get up to 85 % of their traffic from Google (with good SERP positions, of cause), and pages with lots IBL where the Google traffic drops down to 60 % about. Yahoo traffic to the same sites ranges between 10 - 15 % about, just like yours.
I rank very well for some popular search terms in yahoo and google, I get most of my visitors from google but I do not get many visitors from yahoo.
Google Yahoo and other Search Engine gives traffic to site on this factor: On-Page= Meta’s, Robot file, Sitemap, and Keywords, Rss Feeds Off-Page= Link Building (most preferred One way Link Building), Directory Submission Update your site content regularly to crawl your site and visibility of your site in SERLP. So, mind these factors. Defiantly you will get good results in few days.
I get almost no Yahoo love, I think it is somewhere around 3% while google is suppling me with around 40% of my traffic to my blogs. I know in Japan Yahoo is the absolute king of search engines, everybody seems to use it here, but that doesnt help me with my sites all being in English, just thought i would share that useless info.
i also do not love yahoo. I get around 3 to 4 % traffic from yahoo while from Google 87% traffic. I have ranking on popular keywords for both Google & Yahoo. But traffic difference very big. You can neglect yahoo traffic as compared to Google.................................
If you really want to get visitors from SE you will have to primarily target google, as yahoo is dying in comparison. If you set up a google analytics account you will be able to see the exact percentage of visitors who enter your site from search engines.
