Ya it's right, yahoo! traffic is very important. But I give value to all the search engines. Google, Yahoo, MSN have the volume, quantity, quality as austk said. Actualy, my main target is these three top ranking search eng.

I think it's true, especially for shopping related sites. For my shopping sites 80% of traffic coming from yahoo.

Because there are many authority sites using google search, google is more important.

honestly I want to get more traffic from Yahoo, I think it would convert better. Yahoo users tend to be less tech savvy, and hence ad blindness might just be lower with Yahoo users.

in my experience, I get more traffic from Yahoo in one of my site and the other more from Google. More likely the conversion always happen from Google rather than Yahoo.

Both have their good points. Yahoo may offer better results...I believe that Yahoo is geared towards older people because it was the first at free email. Google is good because of the sheer numbers of people and attracts younger folks.

About 75% of people who use search engines use Google, I pay little attention with Yahoo or any other search engine but google. one of my sites ranks 4th in yahoo and 9th with live

I don't think so. I am getting less than 1% of traffic from yahoo. however, it crawls my website regularly and eats my bandwidth.

taking into account, that most of live/msn and especially yahoo users are from the US, who definitely buy and spend more online, then logically yes!! yahoo and msn users are much better in terms of conversion, but as most of DP members state, google has the largest market share.

All reduces to yahoo, google and msn It is a shame that after around 15 years of internet it is almost a monopoly

I guess some niches might prefer yahoo over google, but I don't know of any. Google is by far the best search engine for bringing in traffic in large numbers.

I agree with That also. I also notice that when a website is a shopping niche site, most of its traffics came from yahoo. But in terms of images, google image search drive most of the traffic. So, OPTIMIZE WELL YOUR IMAGES.

I have found that it's easier to rank well with Yahoo than with Google. But when a page ranks with Google they send much more traffic.

You should focus on yahoo traffic in the place where yahoo search is mostly used than Google. If your product/service is targeted there then you should consider yahoo traffic.
