Yahoo toolbar will not uninstall itself from my computer! I tried many times to do it exactly as Yahoo instructs me to. I went to the "pencil menu" on the IE browser and clicked on the last item which is "Uninstall". After I proceeded with uninstall a next window opened with the following message: "Yahoo! Toolbar has been uninstalled. Please close all Internet Explorer windows. The toolbar will not appear when you restart Internet Explorer." I closed ALL browsers (only one was opened) but when I re-opened the Internet Explorer browser the now annoying Yahoo Toolbar appeared again. Then I repeated the same uninstallation procedure many times with no success. Then I tried rebooting my computer each time I uninstalled the Yahoo Tooolbar - no sucess! Then I tried to find and uninstall Yahoo Toolbar in my Control Panel's "Add or Remove Programs", but ... Yahoo Toolbar was not found there! It's some kind of NEW trick by Yahoo! It's WORSE yet! Now this intruder yahoo toolbar is messing with my favourite radio stations by shutting their windows and not allowing me to listen to any of my favourite radio stations! I know, I can disable the pop-up blocker... but first of all, my browser ALREADY had a pop-up blocker and second, I did NOT ask for Yahoo toolbar to install it on my computer nor I authorized it! It is UNBELIEVABLE that Yahoo will mess with someone's computer in this kind of way. First of all the Yahoo Toolbar appeared on my PC without my consenbt. I was NOT prompted for anything, anywhere which asked me whether I wanted a Yahoo Toollbar. I wrote to Yahoo, but there was no response. What should I do? I don't want the YT which takes up extra space on my browser window. I DO NOT WANT IT!!!
I had the same problem. I did resolve it but unfortuanly i cant remember how. I cant stand yahoo and their software. They load you down will tons of crap when you install their messenger
Just trace the process manually and delete all related files and clean your registry from keys that mention those files. Do it ONLY if you know how. Should be enough, after all its not a self-hiding virus/worm that launches itself from temp IE6 dir with a random filename. Try also using google search, many got the same problem. Here is a link that might help http://support.microsoft.com/kb/303047
Have you tried add/remove programs? More than likely this is the only way you could remove it. I took yahoo messenger off my computer and it was a pain in my rear to say the least. Try going to Control Panel Add/Remove Programs Yahoo File Name Click Remove It should be able to remove itself unless it is the token "unremovable file". Then the only way you can be able to remove it is by reformatting your hard drive. Then by doing a custom reformat and removing it that way. Was this helpful? You might also have to delete the icon from programs and delete all the select files from the programs menu into the "Start" profile. If that does not work, then try to go through trouble shooting with someone with some knowledge in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems. Or you could try going down to your local computer shop and try to troubleshoot your CPU with a computer techie.
I had to same problem...that's how I ended up moving to firefox..I didn't get rid of it until I did a complete reinstall
Hi well, I give a way to reinstall try it..disconnect your internet connection, then open your browser, then now click the pencil menu and click the reinstall button,May be this will work out to solve your problem. Regards

firefox with the Google toolbar is all I'll ever use. it seems like everyone is releasing a toolbar these days
u can also try to uninstall it with a software called "Your Uninstaller " ... it did uninstall in that case for me ...
I hate when you're on yahoo or google and they point out that you can install their toolbar. It's like, wow really? I didn't know! but yeah toolbars are evil in their purest form Whoever created the first toolbar must have been a sick and twisted individual
