"Decker declined to say how widely Google ads would be served on Yahoo's pages."
    "10-year agreement"
"Decker said the agreement gives Yahoo the flexibility to determine which ads will appear on Yahoo properties, so advertisers will never be able to assume that any Google ad will appear on Yahoo pages."
"We have the flexibility to optimize everyday, so advertisers will never know what they will get."

Why do I get the feeling that I am about to get smart priced? :p

Good move by yahoo, IMO. They haven't gone ANYWHERE with the publisher network. Something needed to be changed.

I do not see this happening..

    ANIT-TRUST.

Congress is already going nuts about it..

This Microsoft thing is not dead yet.. they will end up picking up yahoo for a song.. way below 1st or second offered price..

Carl Ichan is now one "P.O"ed investor.. Not the person to make mad..

Too funny - and I think Da-chief is right - M$oft is going to pick up the left overs of Yahoo for a song and a dance. . . and boy, can Bill Gates play the Guitar (Hero).

I think all this means is that Yahoo will be displaying google ads on their own websites.

In a sense, Yahoo just made the same deal with google that every other adsense user has made. I'm sure they will get some benefits like mixing up ads...

Either Yahoo is about to leave the ad serving business completely, or they are trying to save ad impressions for YPN... which would make NO sense at all.

Is this the beginning of the end for YPN?

Does this mean Yahoo will end the YPN Beta failure?

The old cliche' "If you can't beat them; join them".

Clearly Yahoo has been unable to compete in the contextual advertising ppc world. So this should put an infusion of cash into the company, supposedly appeasing shareholders. This also allows them to focus on other profitable projects.

So it could be a win for Yahoo for now. Assuming it's allowed.

I am already got banned by google, so if YPN going down the drain, does it mean google adsense will take me back? or they both going to leave me hanging?

Yahoo needs content badly. Further they need to work on the relevancy of their ads.

I'd prefer to use Yahoo but their ads are so unrelated to my site that it's more random advertising than contextual.

Using Google's network could possibly help them, but I do see potential collusion and price fixing in the future as well.

They disabled ad targeting for me long ago, for no apparent reason.
They did the same to many others, as was reported here.

I only picked targeting that was AS CLOSE AS I COULD FIND. And they BLAMED ME for the outcome? Ridiculous. Totally incompetant.

I think that they will still limit their business to United States only.
