    I'd guess not true. If they charge for messenger, they would lose their customers overnight as they simply would move to another free service.

    Nah, not a good idea for Yahoo if this story is true. There are lots of alternatives people can use so it will just make customers stop from using YM.

    I think that would be an extremely stupid idea on the part of yahoo. They would lose more than they would gain. MSN and Google Talk are already better than Yahoo Messenger for most people, I don't see what would make anyone want to pay for it.
    Either way, that story sounds extremely fake.

    Yahoo would lose all its customers and that would really be bad for business. It would be a bad move if Yahoo went ahead with this.
