I'm a Yahoo fan. For some of my clients Yahoo provides 40% of their organic search results. More than that the 'pages viewed' and 'time on site' metrics for Yahoo searchers are usually better than for Google referrees. Call me a contrarian if you will, being number one for keywords on Yahoo is quite satisfying for me.
For many of my sites Yahoo provides 20 - 6o % of traffic despite good rankings in Google. From the point of search effectiveness you just might want to read my search engines comparison article
Google's search engine is number 1 in my eyes, but saying that Yahoo has some great features too, the Yahoo site explorer is a great tool and i get plenty of traffic from Yahoo, i always use Google primarily for my first search, but then again i often find myself then doing the same keyword searches on Yahoo, Live and then Gigablast, if you want to slate a search engine then rant off at Cuil, that really does suck...
YAHOO sucks for Europe and Greece , every week crawl my site and I receive almost zero traffic and from big G 80 % of traffic
I get almost no traffic from Yahoo but I'm not sure why. I'm not going to be so quick to blame Yahoo; it could be my sites are not giving Yahoo what it wants.
that is good to know, I am just starting to do online marketing and I am trying to learn all the good trafficing search engines. Thanks
I wish yahoo can make a search engine just focusing in searching results plus other like google. Mayba they can really make Google run for their money if so because actually from my point of view yahoo results are not that bad If they can make a dynamic fast load first page to search then I am suremany more people will use Yahoo search compared to google.
Yes, Google is the best. But I think Yahoo should come up. Competition is very important. Google should not receive monopoly in the market. Still yahoo is good. Hope Yahoo stand up against Google.
there is little foundation from anyone as to why "yahoo sucks very bad". I have about 60 sites and they all receive free organic monetizable traffic from yahoo. Free traffic? that never "sucks very bad" to me. Yes, google provides better results, but why does that make yahoo suck? a valid answer instead of the drivel that currently makes up most of this thread would be good.
I just reviewed the numbers this afternoon: Yahoo's ad perfomrance as measured by conversions (paying customers ordering product) is just a fraction of Google's. I hate to see Google dominate like they do, but they get results!
This has to be one of the most useless threads since that MD thread. Just because you do not do well with Yahoo does not mean they suck. What happens when you do not do well with Google, are they suddenly gonna suck?
i dont think anyone should badmouth yahoo, google or any other big companies because they dont do well with them, they are not in the top if theyre not good at what they do
