Hi all Yahoo! Slurp Spider has just been hitting my newish site and I was wondering how long would it take to actually get listed in yahoo Also while I am here how much traffic do you guys get from yahoo these days - its about 32% less than google for me Thanks for your time
I receive about 25% as much traffic from Yahoo as I do from Google. Looking at it the other way, I receive four times as much traffic from Google as I do from Yahoo.
Well just got listed which was fast after the spider So that old tip of getting listed through yahoo .ca works
Hi, Is getting listed on Yahoo thru the spider is different than thur a written submission with description et al. I am well listed in Yahoo but hardly get any traffic at all. R. Anand.
Well not sure - but I have never paid to go in Yahoo and at the end of the day the spiders read the page and give it weight and hence were you are listed People write decrip ect including SEO and only write to what gets you list at that time - who knows what will get you listed in 6 months god look whats happened in the last 12 months MMM... Went off course sorry
The Yahoo traffic I get is about 10% of my Google traffic. And, I'm ranked higher in the SERP in Yahoo.
I find my number of pages in Yahoo is still varying, about 2 months after being indexed - one day it might be 18, then next just 2... weird. Have decent positions on different keywords in Yahoo and Google so comparison isnt really valid.
Hey guys, I gotta say in Hawaii, a lot of people search with Yahoo... and i would say it is about even where my leads come from. Although i do rank higher in Yahoo. So maybe Google has a slight edge.
That's SEO you need... Keep hanging around the forums to pick up some really great tips on how to SEO your site. Also do some searches for some tutorials about SEO. Here's a really good start. Brett's 26 steps. One of the first things I read about SEO. Worth a read.
I have been reading this forum for a few weeks you guys are incredible thanks for all the great tools and info. I have a new site listed on Yahoo. I was ranked 1st position for about three days and now that page is no longer index on Yahoo. I have also noticed other pages showing up and then puff they are gone. Any Ideas? Do you think they will come back? I do not beleive it could have been banned I have not done anything that I know of. The page is www.pegandrail.com Yahoo does show an old version of the page. I am ranked 24 on Google for the same page keyword Shaker coat racks. It has been up on google for about a month and it keeps working it,s way closer to 1. Just not sure what to do.
Yep - just got to number 1 for Modular Homes on Yahoo and MSN. The volume has increased hugely and follows a trend that I am seeing, with sites well placed on Google, as Google steadily creates havoc with its searches. Bring on the new MSN and browsers with MSN in the toolbar [God...I never thought I would say that] as Google is really starting to piss me off with its illogical listings Modular Homes
Just follow the basic SEO stuff and make sure your on page optimisation is done. Whilst I concentrate on Google, I have been lucky enough to get some #1 positions for yahoo! Overture was not involved in it.
Here's a really good start. Brett's 26 steps. One of the first things I read about SEO. Worth a read.[/QUOTE] That's got to be a little out of date... "Remember, 80% of your surfers will be at 56k or even less." I just read that just over half of the users in the US are on broadband.

I still have 56k, as it forces me to keep my pages managable.
Just have the impression that Yahoo is much more relevant in the US - and perhaps the UK - then in the rest of the world. Any thoughts on this?
You ask people in UK about Yahoo and its a bit of a blank face , the young ones no but the older suffers yes As for traffic 35% now and growing
