Hi, can anybody tell me what kind of file submitted to Yahoo Sitemap. In Yahoo Sitemap there are two option. Please see this URL: http://submit.search.yahoo.com/free/request Can I submit the sitemap like Google. Please suggest me. Thanks Sapindia
I believe yahoo requiress the file format to be an RSS feed. Which I would like to inquire about if any one know of any free simple tools that will create this RSS feed for yahoo.
I'm almost certain Yahoo accepts plain text files containing a URL on each individual line. A good tool to extract the links from your website is: http://www.auditmypc.com/free-sitemap-generator.asp You can create sitemaps for both Google and Yahoo using these sitemap generator. It's a good way to ensure your website gets fully indexed on the search engines.
For creating Google Sitemaps, Google Sitemap Generator would be a better option - since Google has themselves written it ! But in Python. https://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/docs/en/sitemap-generator.html
Just a fast comment... There many excellent 3rd party Google (and Yahoo) sitemap generator tools out there I see no inherent reason why Google should be best... It is, afterall, a completely open format
Yahoo takes a plain text file with each url being on a separate line. You can submit your file here (account needed) https://login.yahoo.com/config/login?.src=srch&.done=http://submit.search.yahoo.com/free/request Cheers, Dave
No.. Yahoo requires a plain text file (not an xml) with URL's, once per line. Use this software to automatically generate Google (sitemap.xml) and Yahoo (urllist.txt) sitemaps.
