Yahoo Site Explorer not showing many pages

So on google a site appears to be okay with many pages indexed, around 100.

However, on Yahoo Site Explorer it has been at least a couple months and this site still always has around 10-15 pages that show up. I have submitted a RSS site feed and it appears to be good because it has a check mark.

Why is this, and is there anything I can or should do?

Yahoo is broken. And just because you can't use their tool to "see" how many links you have doesn't mean they are not there.

I'm not so concerned about the links or backlinks, but moreso the fact that they say my pages aren't indexed (or it appears that way).

Same for me. I have indexed pages from a month ago. Submitting my new pages does not work. Site explorer does not want show pages that other are indexed in other search engines.

How old is your site? Did you do anything differently?

in my experience yahoo starts indexing very slowly , google indexes new sites faster but in the end it will be google who would have indexed and ranked more of your pages but you will see less pages from site:yoururl than you will see in yahoo. to see the correct amoung login to google webamasters , verify your site and verify your site in yahoo as well and you will know exactly how many pages are indexed in them.

And thats the part that makes me so confused.

My site is old, around 1 year. But I did change the domain name around early Jan.
It's verified in yahoo and I submitted the RSS.
It does have some of the pages indexed.

However, after all that it still only has like 14 pages right now indexed.

Unless you set up a proper 301 redirect when you changed the domain name, the site starts all over with indexing by the search engines.

I definitely understand that, and I was not able to do a proper redirect. Nonetheless, that was at least 2 and a half months ago. Since that time google has picked up my links, and continues to add pages as I update. But Yahoo! hovers around 14 pages even though I update my blog every few days. This is the blog I'm talking about.

Interestingly, it went up to about 24 today. Still, however, google is 4 times that.

Maybe yahoo is just incredibly slow comparatively.

I always had good luck with yahoo if I add a urllist.txt with all my links to yahoo site explorer. I don't know if it was coincidence or what but in the past after adding that and telling yahoo where to find that it would take a huge jump in the number of pages within a day or two.

Yahoo and Google have different indexing systems. Although the Yahoo crawling bot is more active than the Google's in most cases but a lot of pages might not get indexed by Yahoo.

i can imagine what you are thinking, i was too worried about this...
    then i tried something different

when i search for Yahoo in india this is the result is got
    http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.co...tp://www.arcadezeal.com/&y=Explore+URL&fr=sfp

and when made a similar search in yahoo america, this is the result is got
    http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.co...tp://www.arcadezeal.com/&y=Explore+URL&fr=sfp

try searching for the links in the bove mentioned links (open both the above llinks in new windosjust remove the arcadezeal.com link from both of them and type your URL), you will see the difference...
and thank me if it helps you a bit!

i have the same problem - my blog has been over 2 months old and the only page that is indexed is the home page :( . Google on the other hand has already indexed everything and keeps up with my posts that I post every 3 days. Dont know why but am slowly not bothering with yahoo!
