Yahoo! site explorer - any changes today?

Discussion in 'Yahoo' started by justinknightley, Oct 21, 2010.

Yahoo! site explorer has dropped several hundred links for my site. Is there anything to worry about?!

Has anyone else noticed a change in Yahoo! site explorer links today?

    Thanks in advance,
    Justin

Yes I noticed this since last night, I am not worried at all. I checked other sites and it is the same thing on all sites I have checked.

Yes, my site explorer dropped almost 500 links. This surprised me but I believe some say that it happens quite often. Nothing to be afraid of as Google actually approved a few links and google is much more important!

Yeah 50% of my client website backlinks are lost. I think yahoo changing algorithum or might be just a glitch.

Anyone have any news regarding this??

yeah I've noticed that too yesterday, blogged about it. All sites show at least 50% less backlinks. I wonder what exactly that means? Maybe they are discarding lower quality backlinks, cleaning up their index, or just decided to show less links in their tools, like Google does with their link: command.

almost no changes today - on some of the sites a number has increased by a couple of point only.
Wondering if Yahoo formally said anything about it

Yahoo algorithm is no longer working in the US and Canada, as it's now powered by Bing. The change you see in backlink counts may have resulted from Bing's inadequacy in counting links.
