Yahoo shuts down Yahoo Site Explorer

I was surprised to read that Yahoo will shut down Yahoo Site Explorer on September. Right now it is the best tool to find backlinks to a website.

I think we should pressure them not to close this service.

I don't make any point why Yahoo is doing this (if it is intended to do so). Because after Yahoo answer it is one of their best product online. SEO trust its result and often refer to Yahoo site explorer.

It better be better than the old one. Yahoo definitely indexed the most backlinks than all the other engines

Yahoo and Bing are merging webmaster tools. Microsoft-owned Skype is being integrated into Facebook. Facebook uses Bing to power search results. Anyone see the pattern here? They're trying to compete with Google.

Yes, you're right. But the only guy who can be competitor with Google is Microsoft.

You can use other engines to find backlinks too. Yahoo site explorer shutting down isn't necessarily the end of the world! Try Blekko.com to get these links.

yes, this would be unfamiliar for some seoers who are used to check the backlinks with yahoo site explorer; and still no other free and exact ways of doing so~

It's really a bad news since the details obtained from Site Explorer were impressive compared to other backlink checker tools. Well, if they really close it down then we will have to use some other tools like 'Backlink Watch', 'majesticseo' or from 'seomoz'

Wow so that means that they really wanted to bring down Google by joining forces. It is not fair right?

In my opinion when it comes to search engine Microsoft Bing is nowhere close to Google reliable Search engine. Bing is not that enough to compete with Google. :) Anyway let us see what will happen. facebook will be put to test once the google plus enters the stage. :)
