i've got into #1 in a 21,000,000 SERP result from no where.
May be this is just a temporary changing of SERP .. it was #4 a few minutes ago ..

#of results is not important, it is the quality of the keyword what matters.

I was once #1 for "away", do you think that brought in any traffic?

I cant disclose the keyword here but i can tell u that that is a quite competitive keyword in financial field. According to the keyword suggestion by digitalpoint,
the particular keyword has around 1000/searches from wordtracker and 4000/searches from overture.

Still yet to see the number of visitors that the ranking could bring me

Why would anyone NOT want to disclose the keyword? What am I missing here?

Look at my example, I was once ranked for "away". Couldn't care less about it having 200 million results since it brought in 0 traffic

That's obvious. If you optimize a page for a stop word, it won't bring in any traffic, will it? Looking solely at # of results is not important to be more specifit! ;)

I guesss quality keywords are words that are searched more often than other keywords. They are normally more general terms with huge competition. You will find very hard to get a good ranking for those words ;)

e.g. quality keyword: Honeymoon, SEO, Vacation, Resorts, etc.
e.g. Not quality. when, what, think, is it, etc. less searches are done and less value.

Sorry, but what kind of BS is this? Since when is away a stop word?\

All those are 100% junk keywords. If you got a rank for them they would bring in tons of garbage traffic wasting your bandwidth. You need to focus in a specific audience. Not honeymoon, but honeymoon in Paris, not vacation, but Vacation in Florida, etc.

sufyaaan, do you even know what a stop word is, or are you just repeating it because you heard someome talking about it? Go google it and learn what it is since you oviously have no idea of what you are talking about.
