    Yahoo is reporting on their blog that they are going to be rolling out changes to support the 'noydir' meta tag and will be re-indexing the web so you may see some larger than normal SERP changes. It's used like this:

    <META NAME="ROBOT" CONTENT="NOYDIR">
    or
    <META NAME="Slurp" CONTENT="NOYDIR">

    Code (markup):

    After the noodp tag, I was hoping for this one as well so it's great that it's finally here so we can control our own descriptions and titles.

    That might explain the sudden drop in alot of the rankings of a website I am working on. Flippin' Updates! Why are they so drastic in Yahoo?

    The NOYDIR has not impact on rankings.

    It just happens they did a Yahoo! Update at the same time.

    And the index update seems have had a big impact on rankings for one of the sites I am currently working on.

    I think this a very good change as people can now opt out of the default title and should help quite a lot for people to rank in Yahoo!
