I signed up for Yahoo Search Submit Basic two months ago to increase traffic to one of my sites. So far, my admin panel shows that I received one click.

I wrote to Yahoo support complaining. They blamed it on my site. Yet, I get steady free traffic from Google. There is nothing wrong with site.

Needless to say, I am trying to get my money back.

You are right about that! Here is Yahoo's reply:

Unfortunately, the annual subscription fee is non-refundable.

Paying for submission won't help much with your traffic with Yahoo. Use siteexplorer to submit a sitemap or feed and get all your pages index.

For the life of me, I'll never understand why people still pay for Yahoo when you can get in their SERPS free.

I suppose it's the time factor. You want in now, not in a month or two.

one of my clients sites we used search submit basic, $50/url within 3 months we were getting steady yahoo traffic. (the site had already been indexed in yahoo for almost 4 years previously without a single click)

So i tested it again on one of my personal sites - almost 1 month in and still not a single click lol

Being in the Directory is one thing, getting listed in SERPs is another.

Have you optimized your site for Yahoo in any way? I have many websites and thousands of pages indexed by Yahoo and get a lot of good traffic from them after some basic optimisations.

You may want to read How to Optimize for Yahoo! to help you.

    So whats the consensus guys?

My site is ALREADY indexed very well in Yahoo. The domain is aged like a fine wine (well, not quite but its several years old :D) and I have been seriously thinking about paying for Yahoo directory submission???

NOT for traffic (as yahoo is poop) but for the PR/ trust boost it may give my site? At the moment my PR is not good (toolbar wise) but I estimate in real time with google it is a 3 or 4.

What do you reckon? to submit at $300....or not to submit??
