Yahoo search engine submission

Sorry I'm sure this question has been asked before. I just started a new site yesterday using yahoo webhosting, it came with a section that when you click it it supposed to automaticly submit your site to yahoo search engines.

The question is, does anyone have any idea how long that takes?

You have to submit it through yahoo site explorer

 

If you cann't find the good answer yet. You should read yahoo help carefully.

 

Ok I found where to do it had to go through there online help, which was not half bad.

 

I doesn't really matter if you will submit it or not, if your website receives regular content on daily basis it will be indexed in days. the best thing is to let the SE do his work. I think sometimes in the past when i submitted my websites it took longer then natural indexing.

 

Yes this may have been my problem too in the past.

 

Get some links and yahoo and other SE's will crawl it. No need to submit. Next build your sitemap that is what you need to submit.

 

Forgive my ingnorance but what is my sitemap?

 

Also what about other search engines besides the obvious yahoo, and google.... would they crawl my page or do I need to manually submit?

 

You no need to submit it on search engine, if you have quality content, your site will be crawled by SE crawler automatically.

 

I have found in the past that submitting a site to any search engine has not helped in getting it indexed any faster than just leaving it to the search engines to find it themselves, so I have stopped doing it.

 

You can add your to your signature here at digital point forums. In your account signature add your site. Then each time you start a topic or reply to one your website link appears under your reply. Google and the other search engines will find that link and follow it to your site. Which hopefully eventually gets the search engines to help index your site and pages. It still takes them time, but forum signatures help a little. So that is just an additional perk or option here to help you a little. It can also send you a little traffic from other members.

Yahoo webhosting is not so bad I like the web hosting control panel and the traffic refferer. Also shows how many backlinks you have. Pretty neat and easy, dont have to go to a bunch of different sites to find all this info

 

its depend your backlinks quality, more valuable = more fast

 

yahoo generally take 5-7 days but if u get some good backlinks then it index quickly.

Yahoo webhosting and the webhosting control panle is easy enough but it gives no date for when your site has been crawled, It does howeve give the option to submit....


Question... if I add content should I submit, my main content would be free movies and games, or will that even matter?
