Yahoo Sandbox

After 6-7 months of patiently waiting, I recently went from 2 pages to 435 pages indexed in Yahoo.
I expected to see a big increase in traffic from Yahoo but now I average 1 visit a day from Yahoo. I tried searching for some of my pages but I'm not in the top 100 for any search terms.
My optimization is by the book, so that could not be the reason I do not show up in the serps.

I think I have proved that there is a Yahoo sandbox.

    Anyone else experiencing the same?

How competitive are these keywords? Is this just Yahoo or Google/MSN too?

I kinda have to disagree that yahoo has a sandbox. Coupld of my sites that I launched in September, they are already ranking in top 10 . And they are competitive keywords.

Sounds like you need more backlinks.

The keywords relate to adult toys and novelties, so yes they are competative. I am still deep in the Google sandbox and MSN gives some traffic.

do you have a directory listing with Yahoo?

Well thats where the problem is. What you need to do is to create more incoming links to your site using the anchor text "adult toys" or whatever you are shooting for. Maybe also do some keyword research and try to get some less competitive keywords to go for. As you know you are in a very competitve field. :)

I agree. Many of my sites/pages have been indexed within a week, if not sooner.

Spend the $500 and get listed in the Yahoo Adult directory. You'll get indexed almost instantly, but it takes about 2 weeks to get your application reviewed.

I believe the current fee is now $600 for adult sites and a recurring annual fee of $600 as well.

Unfortunately, paying the review fee doesn't always guarantee that your site will be added to the directory.
