While all of us have been busy lauding the steady progress of Google as its products make their way into every aspect of our online lives, Yahoo! has been making significant announcements and product rollouts in sectors that may have the biggest impact on our lives over the next five years. This includes IPTV, RSS, messaging and localization, and mapping."
info ... interesting though I dont really want people watching tv shows at work when they could be clicking on google ads
Yahoo has always been better with content and communities, etc. With Yahoo's new ppc program, they have a chance to attract the attention of webmasters & tech people (the ones who lauded Google and promoted them to the public). This could also really help Yahoo in the long run. I think a lot of webmasters and techies have forgotten about Yahoo. This is a good chance for them to change that. Unfortunately, they may be screwing this opportunity up by not communicating very well with said webmasters. There's still time to save themselves, however.
What I have to say about Yahoo is that I have better resutls with their ads programs than with Google, I really don't know why because I use the same site where I had google ads. kind Regards
I've been delving into yahoo's API's and the community is much smaller, but the capabilities are strong. For whatever reason, they haven't been getting the press - Slashdot has a love for google these days, but I think Yahoo is making strides.
Be carefull with the promises of larger income from YPN, yess it can be more, but yahoo are also vetting clicks at the end of the month and removing any non-USA traffic clicks. But yahoo is also much easier on accidently clicking your own ads. As one of their representitives told me, they check their traffic and will remove the clicks at end of month, and not to worry about it. Completely different tune compared to Google's nazi like approach, granted you should never click on your own ads, but even I have done it accidently. Brad
Sounds like a breath of fresh air. I often find interesting stuff on my own sites including ads. Having to pussyfoot around and open a new tab, copy and paste the URL etc is a dissapointing waste of time when it would be so easy just to declare one or several IP addresses to G and have any clicks from those addresses excluded/deducted at month end.
