Google won't be beaten. The only way to beat google is to make something completely NEW not just make something better but to have an invention of some sort.

Both ways are possible, Microsoft Yahoo can use sustaining innovation to defeat google while any new comers can make use of disruptive strategy.

I think they both should merge for the better. but microsoft has to give what yahoo feel what it is worth. 62% more of market value is not a good deal for yahoo. let say yahoo is no 10 and microsoft is no 5. if the company that want to buy yahoo is at no 50 then I would say 62% is logical. but when the company that want to buy yahoo is about the same level with them in a very lucrative industry and the company that want to buy them is among the richest company in the world I don't think 62% is logical or appreciated. the value itself is an insult to yahoo.

Yahoo may be in for a hostile takeover. Yahoo could use some revamping. and the merger could take a bite out of google. I am confused about yahoo teaming with google for 2 weeks on searches.

I don't think that Yahoo will ever agree to merge with Microsoft willing. Most likely is the option of a hostile takeover by Microsoft. A combination of the two companies would be huge though because of the potential possibilities that the two companies offer. If the two were to combine, could this be considered a possible monopoly?

Possibly in some sectors, but google is so dominant right now there is no way they could be considered a monopoly.

Yahoo wants a bidding war, plain and simple.

Hmm, well, this is just another sign that Microsoft is trying to dominate the computer industry!

You have them in OS's, you get them rivaling google in almost every way!

Microsoft is just trying to be as well known as google, but I don't think it will ever work.

LEts hope that Yahoo will survive
