I am hoping to get some other theories what happened here. Basically, I have been adding backlinks like normal - a site here, a site there, etc. Not too fast, not too slow. Recently I made a small change to the homepage of the site. My intent was to change a hyperlink on the homepage so that it included a keyword. I noticed that google ranked the hyperlinks on the homepage better so this is what I did. While Google and MSN seemed indifferent about the change, my ranking dropped from the first page to the 3rd on many keywords in Yahoo. Now, I find it a little hard to believe that mentioning a keyphrase one more time on the homepage caused this mess, but it is the best I can come up with. Has anyone had a similar experience with Yahoo? I would appreciate some advice on what you did to fix it.
If that is true, I am not sure why they dropped me, as all of the metatags have remained the same. I added a page recently, but it is not in the index yet, so that can't be it.
Due to algorithmic changes Yahoo! might have made it could of caused your site to lose rankings in their search results. Remember, major search engines are always updating their algorithm and it can effect your site.
Hmm...I am still not coming up in Yahoo. It has been well over 2 weeks. Google and MSN seem to be improving my rankings all the time, but not Yahoo. For example, I am now #2 under the term "exterior shutters" in Google, #7 in MSN, but in Yahoo, I am #28. What the? Even if Yahoo changed their algorithm, why is it so far out of whack? Also, wouldn't this forum be filled with lots of posts about suddenly being dropped in Yahoo if that was the case?
