Yahoo rankings change and adsense

My site was ranking great in yahoo, then it suddenly totally disappeared from the serps. I don't know why. For high profile terms as well as less competitive terms. Someone suggested it was because of the adsense ads on my site. I am skeptical of this. Does anyone here have a site that ranks well for high profile terms in yahoo and has adsense ads on their site?

I dont't hink that Yahoo can remove your site from their SERPS just because of having adsense, almost any site this days have some sort of advertising so I don't think this is a reason.

Yahoo CAN remove any website from its rankings for any reason or no reason. Google was just vindicated in a lawsuit where a company sued them for ranking other sites above his (and the ironic loss of AdSense revenue that ensued) by a Judge who ruled that SERPs are a form of 1st Amendment protected speech.

Its kind of like a restaurant reviewer. If he says my restaurant is better than yours, he has the right to say that and you can't legally do anything about it, unless what he says is slanderous.

Now WOULD Yahoo drop a site that has AdSense? That would be interesting. Think about all of the people who have AdWords campaigns that direct low cost clicks to AdSense cluttered landing pages. These landing pages are little more than online spam typically. So the question then becomes WOULD Yahoo rank spam sites over content-rich sites?

I doubt they knocked you or anyone else because of AdSense, but if you had a landing page with little content and a lot of ads, then THAT may be why you were lowered in the SERPs.

No, my landing page or site for that matter has more content than ads. So, I guess, I really have no explanation for why my site no longer ranks well in yahoo. It is just odd, the day before it disappeared, it made it to the first page for the first time at #9 for the competitive term 'photo hosting'.
Now, it is totally gone. I never thought I would see the day that my site ranked better in google than in yahoo, but that is now the case.

Having adsense on your website has nothing to do with how your rank in yahoo at all. In some cases having adsense on your site could actually help if your ads are relevant to your website content because they are constantly updated content.

I've seen no evidence of Yahoo discounting a website based on this. That would just be poor form and if Google did the same thing in retaliation, Yahoo would hurt more.
